Land has been traditionally been used for subsistence farming and settlement. It has been passed down as inheritance in form of subdivisions. Land being a finite resource will eventually be depleted if traditions are not adapted to fit within the modern global economy. Climate change will further complicate land issues.

The Akombe foundation is seeking to partner with communities and subject matter experts to explore how communities could fully realize the benefit of land. We will seek ways to empower communities to explore business models that would preserve land as single units while providing benefit to those who collectively own the units.
